Denise Smith Crouch

I've been living in Spokane since graduation. I have a Masters in Education from EWU and have been teaching in the Mead School District for over eight years. Raising three boys keeps my husband and I very busy.

One of my favorite memories was during AP Biology when we were disecting a dogfish shark. We were seeing if the eyeballs would stick to the chalk board or how far they would bounce when we heard the elementary band students walking down the hallway. Mr. Anderson, dressed in his white lab coat, safety glasses, and messed up hair, decided to play a trick on the unsuspecting band kids. He told us all to be very quiet and had Kelly S. stand at the ready by the door. He grabbed a rather LARGE knife and the disected dogfish shark by the tail. When Kelly opened the door, he jumped out at them shaking the knife and shark yelling that they were next! The band kids dropped their instruments, screamed at the top of their lungs, and ran out of the building. He quickly ran back into the classroom, slamming the door, as we laughed ourselves silly!
